Avast Secure Browser Review

Avast Secure Browser Review is one of the browsers that puts the highest importance on privacy and security, with features like Bank Mode and anti-tracking technology. It also has an VPN built-in, allowing you to connect quickly and remain safe. It is based on Chromium which means that it operates and looks exactly like Chrome and also supports Chrome extensions, as well as its own security-focused extensions.

Avast Secure Browser includes a variety of security and privacy extension already installed. These include an adblocker, a antiphishing extension and an extension to block tracking and fingerprint disguise, HTTPS encryption, extension guard, a password manager, and even the ability double-check credentials on websites such as HaveIBeenPwned. You can find all these extensions from the browser’s Security & Privacy Center. You can also personalize each extension individually according to your preferences.

The adblocker is powerful and can be set to block all ads. It is also able to block flash data files which helps pages load faster. The browser is able to detect websites that are phishing and warn you about any scams that might be in the pipeline. However it is not as effective than Google’s Scam Alert.

The browser claims to be “track proof,” but this is really just a fancy way of saying it uses the Do Not Track standard, which isn’t as robust as it ought to be. The browser’s anti fingerprinting capabilities are also limited and can only scramble a portion of the user agent string.
